O spletni strani
TIMES.si is a computer-generated news site that aggregates headlines from 20 slovenian news sources, groups similar stories together and displays them to their importance.
Our articles are selected and ranked by computers that evaluate, among other things, how often and on what sites a story appears online. We also rank based on certain characteristics of news content such as freshness, news source, relevance and diversity. As a result, stories are sorted without regard to political viewpoint or ideology and you can choose from a wide variety of perspectives on any given story.
Our headlines are selected entirely by computer algorithms, based on factors like how often and where a story appears online. TIMES.si has no human editors selecting stories or deciding which ones deserve top placement. This is very much in the tradition of Google Web Search, which relies on the collective judgment of online publishers to determine which sites offer the most valuable and relevant information. Similarly, TIMES.si relies on the collective judgment of online news organizations to determine which stories are most deserving of prominence on the News homepage.
The standard TIMES.si page consists of the Top Stories and eight standard sections: Slovenija, Svet, Gospodarstvo, Kultura, Šport, Tehnologija, Zanimlivosti and Črna Kronika.
The time or date displayed next to an article reflects when the article was found by TIMES.si.
TIMES.si includes articles that have been crawled within the last 2 days.
Our grouping technology takes into account many factors, such as titles, text, and publication time. We then use various clustering algorithms to identify stories we think are closely related. We work continuously to improve this grouping technology; your feedback can help us identify areas that need work. Please let us know if you have any suggestions for improvement.
TIMES.si gathers articles by crawling online news sites. If a news source deletes or moves an article on its site, you'll get an error page after clicking the link from TIMES.si. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please be assured that we're working to improve our technology. In the meantime, we encourage you to search for stories on the same topic by browsing the cluster of related stories in TIMES.si.
TIMES.si is compiled solely by computer algorithms. As a result, you may occasionally see an image that appears out of context. We're constantly working to improve our automated image selection. Also, any typos in the source will also appear in TIMES.si stories, even if the source corrects the mistake. (We only pull the story once, then we continue to pull new stories.)
The articles and images you find in TIMES.si are published by third-party news organizations. There are no TIMES.si editors or reporters on staff to review or write stories, and TIMES.si doesn't create the titles or any other part of an article. If you'd like to send feedback about an article you found in TIMES.si, you'll need to email the publisher of the story directly.
If you'd like a site to be included in TIMES.si, please send us the URL. While we can't guarantee that we'll add the source you recommended, we'll be happy to review it.
